International flights to Jakarta – Due to the number of countries that have already opened their border, international travel seems to start bouncing back as well. However, there are some requirements to enter other countries, in an effort to make everyone feels safer and stop the worldwide virus spread.
Indonesia also imposes entry and exit requirements for foreigners and Indonesian citizens who land or transit through airports in Indonesia. For those of you who are planning to travel abroad, whether for leisure or business, take notes on the steps below upon arrival in Indonesia.

For those of you who have just come back home from abroad, the following are complete procedures that you must follow upon arrival at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. To stay safe, pay attention to the steps below before you go on vacation overseas and return to Indonesia!
Also, effective May 17, 2022, the government will ease the use of masks in open spaces. Don’t forget to keep wearing a mask in a closed room, t-mates!
1. General Requirements
First thing first, before flying back to Jakarta from the country of your departure, you must prepare some general requirements as stated below:
- Download PeduliLindungi app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store or through the PeduliLindungi website.
- Must show a COVID-19 certificate/card (digital or printed) showing that they are vaccinated second dose/booster, at least 14 days before departure.
- The certificate/card must be written in English or the language of the country of origin.
- Fully vaccinated/boosted overseas travelers do not need to bring the results of the PCR/Antigen test.
- Passengers who have received the second or third dose of vaccine at least 14 days before departure are allowed to continue their journey.
- Quarantine for 5 x 24 hours for passengers who have just received the first dose of vaccine or who have not received the vaccine.
- Then the second RT-PCR test will be on the 4th day of quarantine

2. Pass-Through 6 Checkpoints for Arrival at CGK Airport
The following requirements apply to all international flight passengers arriving in Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK). This refers to the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 74 of 2021, which is as follows:
- 1st Checkpoint

- Passengers on international routes (Indonesian citizens and foreigners) who land at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, after getting off the plane will go to the holding area to take part in data collection according to the criteria for the Decree of the Head of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Number 11/2021 (migrant workers, students, government employees), and data collection for Indonesian citizens and other travelers in accordance with provisions outside the criteria for the decision of the Task Force Chair.

- All passengers go to the health document verification areas that are carried out by KKP personnel from the Ministry of Health. Documents that are verified include; a vaccination card and other documents required in SE Kemenhub 74/2021. At this point, KKP personnel will also classify quarantine locations.

- Passengers with only the first dose of the vaccine have to undergo a PCR test in a booth located at the International Arrivals Area of Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta Airport. This COVID-19 test service will be carried out by a healthcare facility provider. Passengers with a second dose and or booster vaccine can continue to the next checkpoint.

- All passengers will go to Immigration and Customs.

- Passengers of the first dose of vaccine with positive RT-PCR test results go to the holding area for quarantine preparation under the supervision of the personnel of the Air Task Force for Handling COVID-19. PCR test results will also be informed at this point. All other passengers can continue their journey.

4. Quarantine Policy Upon Arrival in Indonesia
When you arrive in Indonesia, there will be some procedures that you must follow. One of them is by conducting quarantine in accordance with the Circular Letter (SE) of the Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 19/446105/SP/291902022. The details are as follows:
- Quarantine for 5×24 hours for passengers who have just received the first dose of vaccine and have positive RT-PCR results.
- Passengers who have received the second or third dose of vaccine at least 14 days before departure are allowed to continue their journey.
- Passengers under 18 years of age and/or requiring special protection must follow the quarantine rules that apply to their parents or travel companions.
- Exceptions from the quarantine obligation of Indonesian citizens with urgent circumstances:
- having a life-threatening health condition that requires special attention
- conditions of mourning, such as a family member passing away
This quarantine is essential to find out and also monitor the health status of passengers traveling from abroad to Indonesia without exception.
