How to Apply for Japan Visa Waiver & Documents Required
- Valid e-passport
- Fill in the visa waiver registration form here.
- Submit the form to the Japanese Embassy/Japan Visa Application Center (JVAC) office at VFS Global. Registration fee is 125,000 IDR*
- Wait for the registration process at least 5 working days
- If the application is accepted, a visa-free sticker will be affixed to your e-passport, with a maximum validity period of 15 days per 1 visit.
Other than through JVAC, now you can also apply for a Japan visa waiver online. Register via this link and fill in the form. After the registration online, you will get an email which notified that the registration process has been successfully done and the result of the visa waiver request.
How to Apply Japan Visa for Regular Passport
Now it’s the turn to apply for a Japan visa for Indonesian citizens holding regular passports. Slightly different from an e-passport, for those of you who hold a regular passport with a visit or stay of 16 days or more, there are several additional documents that you need to prepare.
Requirements for Regular Passport Holders
- Passport
- Visa application form, download here
- Recent passport photo (size 45mm x 35mm)
- Photocopy of KTP
- Proof of reservation of a round-trip flight ticket to Japan
- Itinerary that includes planned activities while in Japan
- Proof of finance/account statements for the last 3 months
- Proof of family relationship if applying in groups
- Student status document, for active students
