Here’s What You Should Know About PSBB Jakarta and PSBM Bogor, Depok & Bekasi

As we know, starting from Monday 14 September 2020, Jakarta has reimposed a tight PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) and ended the new normal transition period.

In addition to that, the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, also implemented PSBM (Micro-Scale Social Restrictions) for Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi (Bodebek) areas. So, what is the difference between PSBB and PSBM?

The Difference Between PSBB Jakarta and PSBM Bodebek

Find out the difference between PSBB Jakarta and PSBM Bodebek and other information about the regulations. Make sure to take notes if you’re going anywhere during this social restriction period.

1. The Meaning

PSBB

PSBB or large-scale social restrictions is a regulation to limit certain activities of residents in an area suspected of being infected with COVID-19 to prevent the spread of the virus to society.

PSBM

The regulations and objectives of the PSBM (micro-scale social restrictions) are not much different from PSBB, but the area of implementation is smaller. PSBM usually applies in sub-district areas that are suspected of having a high potential for transmission.

2. Restaurant Rules

PSBB

For areas where PSBB applies, all eating places are prohibited to serve dine-in. However, they still can operate for takeaway orders only. 

PSBM

Meanwhile, in the areas where PSBM applies, all eating places are still allowed to operate. It’s just that dine-in services are limited to a maximum capacity of 50%.

3. Office Regulations

PSBB

Office capacity is limited to a maximum of 25%. However, there are 11 sectors that are exempted and may reach a maximum capacity of 50%.

PSBM

Office activities are not regulated in areas where PSBM is enforced.

4. Online Transportation

PSBB

In the PSBB area, online transportation is still allowed to transport passengers and goods while implementing health protocols to prevent virus transmission.

PSBM

PSBM area allows online transportation to continue operating as long as it uses a partition between the driver and the passenger as a way to implement physical distancing (Bogor).

5. Personal Vehicles

PSBB

Private cars are allowed to travel within the PSBB area, as long as each row in the car is filled with only two people. This capacity rule does not apply if all passengers come from the same place of residence.

PSBM

In the PSBM area, private cars are still allowed as long as all passengers wear masks (Bogor).

6. Curfew

PSBB

There is no curfew in the area where the PSBB is implemented.

PSBM

A curfew is enforced only in Depok and Bogor areas.

Depok:

Malls, minimarkets, restaurants, and cafes are allowed to open until 18.00 WIB.

Delivery service is allowed to operate until 21.00 WIB.

Residents’ activities outside their home until 21.00 WIB.

Bogor:

Formal sector (restaurants, cafes, malls, and trade centers) until 20.00 WIB.

Informal sector (micro trading) until 21.00 WIB.

7. The crowd

PSBB

In the PSBB area, crowds involving more than five people are not allowed. All residents are advised to stay at home.

PSBM

For the PSBM area, crowds in public facilities are monitored, the one-way pedestrian pathway in the Bogor Botanical Gardens is closed. Sports venues were also closed (Bogor).

8. Closed Places

PSBB

In the PSBB area, places that are closed include schools and educational institutions, tourism and recreational parks, city parks and RPTRA, public sports facilities, and wedding reception venues.

PSBM

Meanwhile, in the PSBM area, places that were closed included pedestrians around Bogor Botanical Gardens and Bogor Palace, sports venues managed by the government, and schools not yet allowed to conduct face-to-face learning (Bogor).

9. Hotel

PSBB

In the areas where the PSBB applies, hotels are included in 11 sectors that are granted exemptions to continue operating.

PSBM

There are no special regulations for hotel operations in the PSBM application areas.

Follow the Rules and Protect Ourselves

As stated above, some places and activities will be limited during the implementation of PSBB and PSBM. Let us all follow the applicable rules so that we can quickly get through this hard time safely and can get back to the new normal as soon as possible. Stay safe, t-mates!
