Hagia Sophia is the most iconic historical building in Istanbul. Built as an Orthodox church in the 6th century, it was converted into a mosque in 1453 and then into a museum in 1935. Today, Hagia Sophia retains elements of both religions. Truly a symbol of religious tolerance!
After being mesmerized by Hagia Sophia, get ready to be amazed again when you visit the next gorgeous museum. Topkapi Palace preserves the ancient belongings of the Turkish Sultan and many Islamic relics of Prophet Muhammad. You will definitely learn a lot about Islamic history here, t-mates!

Kaleiçi is surely the place you immediately need to visit. The streets of this city offer you the opportunity to admire the stunning architectural designs of the classic Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman. So authentic!
With more than 5,000 works of art on display, the Antalya Archaeological Museum is the next perfect place to uncover ancient history. Feel free to observe artworks from various eras (Stone Age, Bronze Age, Byzantine Empire) on display in 13 different exhibition halls and one open-air exhibition.
Curious about how ancient cities looked like in the past? Thermoessos and Perge are two ancient cities to visit in Antalya. Although exploration of these ancient cities will take about 4-5 hours, you won’t realize how time goes by fast!

4. Day 4 in Ankara

For the last destination in the Turkey itinerary, this citadel called Ankara Castle is the most interesting part of Ankara to explore. This well-preserved castle has been standing strong since the Byzantine Emperor era around the 7th-9th century. Woah, truly a solid work of architecture!

For those of you who will visit Turkey shortly, you must meet the entry requirements set by the Turkey government. The requirements to enter Turkey* are as follows:
- All passengers aged 6 years and above must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken at most 3×24 hours before arrival or a Rapid Antigen test taken at most 2×24 hours before arrival. This does not apply to:
- Passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate stating that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival;
- Passengers with a COVID-19 recovery certificate issued at most 6 months before arrival.
- The completed “Tourist Entry Form” must be submitted at least 3×24 hours before departure and presented at check-in and upon arrival.
- Not valid for passengers under 6 years old.
