The answer can be yes or no, depending on your perspective. For me, I don’t think that FOMO is always bad. Well, I think FOMO is good – when used responsibly. As long as your FOMO doesn’t cause troubles to your life, go ahead…just do it.
For sure, forcing yourself to buy concert tickets when you have to borrow the money is not wise; therefore, you shouldn’t do it. Similarly, forcing yourself to buy branded stuff just so you can hang out with those cool friends of yours isn’t wise as well.
Don’t let yourself feel anxious or even worse, depressed, by following what other people are doing. You have to ask yourself, do you really want it? Is it worth it?

Up to a certain extent, I think FOMO is good because it can actually help us to get out of our comfort zone! Sometimes, we know that we need to change, but since we don’t have the urgency to do so, we end up not doing it, right?
Imagine that you have been wondering all this time about moving abroad and experiencing living in a different country. However, you are reluctant to do that because you already have a stable job.
Then, you see some of your friends are getting scholarships or Work Holiday Visa. You have this FOMO that you want to move abroad. Hey, if you never try, you’ll never know. Maybe that’s gonna be a chance of a lifetime? When the doors open for you, just do it!
FOMO also affects me personally. When I see my friends posting on social media that they are having fun traveling, either in Indonesia or abroad, I have this travel FOMO that I want to travel there as well.
