I have visited home a few times during my university years abroad. The brief encounter was pleasant since I had a chance to have a heart-to-heart talk with my parents.
But, there’s always this constant missing of them, nasi padang (Minang-style rice with plenty of side dishes), as well as martabak (Indonesian pancake) that I couldn’t ignore when I was in a foreign land.
