After a long day of outdoor activities in Suranadi Park, you can hop on the nearby souvenir shops. You can easily find unique handicrafts, or the famous Lombok’s seaweed taffy! 3. Lombok’s Own Heaven of Pearls, Sekarbela Village

Situated in Sultan Kaharudin Road, Mataram, Sekarbela Village is the ultimate place where you can find nice pearls to bring back home. Sekarbela offers you two kinds of pearls to choose from; one is the freshwater pearls, while the other is straight out from the sea.

The uniqueness of the seawater pearls comes from the colors, where some are light yellowish-brown, and others are golden alike, which they called the golden South Sea pearl. They are too beautiful for you not to bring back home as souvenirs!

4. Cukli Hunting at Sayang-Sayang Art Market

Cukli, a word that might sound strange to your ear or is it your first time hearing it? Little do you know that behind its weird name, you can only find beauty when it comes to Cukli. So, What is it then?

Cukli is hand-made woodcraft with a combination of seashells planted in the wood that forms a unique and beautiful pattern. The perfect mix of the dark colors of the wood and the white sea shells is what makes cukli both antique and lavish.

Sayang-Sayang Art Market is the perfect place for cukli hunting, t-mates. Other than cukli, other wood crafts can be also found here. From rattan bags, tissue boxes, to rattan trash baskets, all you can find is here. Plenty to bring back home!

Feel enough with the snacks and rattans? Now we’re moving on to one of the villages in the West of Lombok, Banyumulek Village is the only place of pottery craft that still exists today in Lombok. As you walk into the village, you will easily find pottery everywhere.

The locals themselves have been dependent on the pottery as their livelihood, thus 80 percent of the villagers are pottery craftsmen. It is no wonder that the pottery produced by Banyumulek is varied with its own high quality and uniqueness.

Find yourself in awe of Lombok’s pretty traditional woven fabrics in Sade Village. The Sasak people are well known for their magic hands in creating beautiful and high-quality traditional woven fabrics. 

Situated in Central Lombok Regency, Sade Village is home to a variety of traditional woven fabrics that you can bring back home. The result of Sade Village’s woven fabrics is known as the smoothest result here in Lombok. 

While visiting Sade Village, you can see and learn how to weave in the most traditional way. The local women are more than happy to teach you how to, so don’t worry to ask for some knowledge in how to weave. 

In fact, the weaving technique is something that cannot be replaced by any amount of money in this world, it’s a generation-to-generation kind of thing that you can only learn while visiting Lombok.
