Import duties for certain items:
- General goods: 7.5%
- Bags: 15% – 20%
- Shoes: 25% – 30%
- Textile products: 15% – 25%
Import value of less than USD 3 per shipment or equivalent to 45,000 IDR (exchange rate of IDR 15,000 per US dollar) will not be subject to Import Duty, but is subject to 10% VAT.
If import value is between USD 3 to USD 1500, 7.5% Import Duty and 10% VAT will be imposed.
Whilst, if import value exceeds USD 1500, import duties, VAT and PDRI will be imposed. Notification of Goods Import (PIB or Pemberitahuan Impor Barang) is needed to be fulfilled and sent to Customs and Excise to calculate the amount of tax to be paid.
After calculations of import duties and VAT, all of the goods, despite their import value, are charged with additional Import Income Tax of 7.5% – 10%.
