2. Give Angpao

Red envelopes, or also known as angpao, are gifts presented at large family gatherings. The meaning of the red color is good luck. It represents people’s blessings to other relatives who get the angpao.
Generally, only married people give angpao. Newly married couple do not need to give angpao on their first year of marriage. Angpao is given to children and single people. When you’re giving the angpao, don’t forget to say well wishes such as “Gong Xi Fa Cai”, which means wishing you an abundance of fortune.
3. Watch Traditional Lion Dance

In Chinese culture, lion symbolizes power, wisdom and superiority. Usually during the Chinese New Year, you can watch the barongsai performance everywhere in the city. In the shopping malls, in the temple or other places.
Lion dance involves several people wearing a long lion costume. The person makes a creative movement that can entertain the visitors. The loud sound of the drum represents the heartbeat of the lion. 4. Pray in the Temple
During Imlek, usually some Chinese people go to the temple to pray and burn incense and joss sticks.
