Choose Your Test Wisely
1. Rapid Antibody Test
For Rapid Antibody Test, you can get the result in a short time. Within 15 minutes, you will be able to find out whether you’re reactive or non-reactive toward the virus. The sample of blood will be taken from a finger prick test.
This test is the most widely used test at the beginning of COVID-19. It is quite affordable, which is around 150,000 IDR* per test. However, the Rapid Antibody Test is the least accurate among the other tests.
2. Rapid Antigen Test
Rapid Antigen Test is more accurate compared to Rapid Antibody Test. It costs between around 200,000 IDR – 500,000 IDR* (the price depends on where you take the test).
The Rapid Antigen Test is carried out by taking the mucus sample from your nose using a long cotton bud.
You will have your result in less than 2 hours. If you’re tested positive, you have to do the PCR test.
3. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test
PCR Test is the most accurate compared to the other two options above. Similar to the Rapid Antigen Test, the process is by collecting mucus samples using swabs (which look like long cotton buds).
You can get the result within 1-5 days. The cost for this test starts at 900,000 IDR*.
