Day 1 

1. Downtown

If you’re visiting Queenstown from other cities in New Zealand, fly using Air New Zealand. Start your journey by exploring the downtown Queenstown. Grab lunch there! There are various food choices from Asian food, American food and so on. If you love burgers, you should try the infamous Fergburger! If you prefer Asian food, there are a delicious Thai restaurant called @thai or a Malaysian restaurant named Madam Woo.

In the downtown area, you can also do some sightseeing, shopping or just relax by the beach. Before sunset, make your way to Skyline Gondola. It is only 10 minutes’ walk from downtown.

2. Skyline Gondola

Taking the cable car ride to the top of Queenstown is a must! The Skyline Gondola will take you 450 metres above Queenstown and the amazing Lake Wakatipu. The costs for a round-trip Gondola ride is $44 for adults and $26 for child. 

What’s not to miss up there is the Luge ride! Luge is a sled for one or two people for coasting or racing. When you’re riding the Luge, you can witness spectacular panorama of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables (a big mountain terrain). There are two routes for the Luge rides. You’ll go into the tunnels and a windy road. Beware of the speed bumps!

Once you’re done with the Skyline Gondola, go back to your accommodation to take a rest. On your way back, you’ll be amazed to see the stars shining in the clear night sky. 

Day 2 

1. Rafting or Jet Boat

Today, it’s time to experience jet boating or rafting. Take a journey to the Skippers Canyon. It is a must do activity in New Zealand. This activity is for you who love the wet and wild adventure. You’ll go on a 4.5 hour rafting experience and enjoy sweeping views over New Zealand’s beautiful shoreline.

2. Milford Sound

Traveling to Milford Sound will take the whole day. You should start early in the morning. But, the experience is going to be extraordinary. From Queenstown, follow the road to Te Anau. The scenery along the way is stunning. Be prepared to see The Remarkables, Lake Te Anau. Stop by and take some pictures!

Take a boat cruise when you arrive at Milford Sound. In the boat ride, you can see up close the fur seals sunbathing on rocks, giant waterfalls and if you’re lucky, you can see penguins, dolphins and even whales!
