For those of you who will be returning to your city with a private or public vehicle, pay attention to these tips to make your return trip from the homecoming more comfortable, t-mates!
1. First and Foremost, Set Your Return Date

Because the traffic during counter-exodus season this year can be very severe, it’s best to choose the right return date and plan it far in advance. This way, you can avoid the congestion on the highways leading to the capital city and other cities.
There are some tips that you can follow to reduce traffic, such as choosing a return date before most people return from their hometowns or choosing a date when many people have started working again so that the roads are already less crowded and you can avoid the traffic.
2. Double-Check Your Vehicle Condition
Many people often overlook this, even though the roadworthiness of your vehicle is very important to make your journey safer and more comfortable. Don’t forget to always check the roadworthiness of your vehicle, t-mates! Especially if you are going on a long-distance trip or travelling between cities or provinces.
Checking the tires, fuel, brakes, and other potentially hazardous parts of the vehicle is crucial to ensure the safety and comfort of your journey. By inspecting all the vehicle components, you will feel more at ease when driving.
3. Prepare Enough Food for the Road
During the homecoming or returning period, the roads are usually very crowded and can take a long time. Therefore, make sure you bring enough food for the journey. Choose foods or snacks that are filling and won’t cause any reactions, so you don’t have to go to the toilet frequently during the journey. Remember, your health and comfort during the journey are also very important!
Fruits, peanuts, and maybe sandwiches sound nice for the road! Oh, don’t forget to prepare a trash bag, t-mates! So the cleanliness of your vehicle is safe-assured.
4. Stay Fit and Maintain Your Health
Getting sick in the middle of the road would be the last thing you want to experience right, t-mates? It’s important to prepare your body to stay fit during the journey back from your hometown!
You can prevent it by consuming nutritious and filling food, drinking enough mineral water, and taking vitamins.
5. Bring Only What’s Necessary! Don’t Overpack
It’s important to be considerate when bringing back souvenirs from your hometown. Make sure to only bring what’s necessary and avoid overloading your luggage, especially if you’re traveling by public transportation like a bus or a travel. This will not only make your trip more comfortable but also other passengers’ journey as well.

With that coming up, it’s better to sort out again what items to bring and what items don’t need to be brought as souvenirs. This way, the vehicle still has enough space to keep you comfortable during the journey!
6. Make Sure Your Phone Battery is Always Sufficient
This one tip for the return flow of the annual exodus is super important and shouldn’t be forgotten. Yup, make sure your phone battery is always fully charged. Because you might need it as a navigation tool or for communication related to your return trip. Plus, you could get bored without any means of communication and just staring at the road for hours on end.

Pro tips: Buy yourself a car charger and or power bank to avert any troubles that might come when your battery is down!
7. Always Stay Alert and Be Careful
Safety and security should always be a top priority when traveling, regardless of the type of trip. During a counter-exodus journey, there’s often a risk of criminal activity that can put you in danger. To prevent this from happening to you, it’s best to avoid wearing flashy jewelry and carrying excessive items. Remember, the less baggage you bring, the easier it is to keep an eye on and protect. So, stay vigilant during your journey, t-mates!

Don’t be reckless on the road, if you find yourself sleepy then please find the nearest rest areas to rest. If you see your vehicle having the slightest problem, don’t hesitate to check up on it and only continue once it is fixed. The bottom line is to prioritize your safety at all costs, okay, t-mates!
