France Itinerary – France is one of the top destinations in the world that is probably on everyone’s bucket list.

Chillin’ with the Eiffel Tower view, visiting worldwide famous art galleries and museums, trying authentic Parisian food, or staying at the best hotels in the Alps could be some of many activities you can do in France.

So, let’s go beyond Paris and discover more gorgeous cities in France!

6 Days 5 Nights Itinerary in France, Check it Out!

Paris, the capital city of France, offers you many interesting to do. Undoubtedly, it should be on your itinerary and bucket list.

However, let’s explore beyond Paris this time to visit more enchanting cities. Because even in the small towns, France architecture, museums, and natural landscapes look totally alluring!

Day 1: Arrival in Paris (Airport – Hotel – Musée du Louvre – Arc de Triomphe – Eiffel Tower)

  • You’ll be landed in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
  • After getting your luggage, let’s drop it at the hotel!
  • Visit Musée du Louvre, a place where you can see Mona Lisa painting
  • Continue to visit Arc de Triomphe and take photos
  • Enjoy the night with the Eiffel Tower view from Trocadero Square
  • Back to the hotel and rest well!

After arriving in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can head directly to the hotel to drop your luggage and rest a bit. Don’t forget to book cozy hotels in the heart of Paris so you can go anywhere easily.

The first destination you can visit is one of the largest museums in Indonesia, the Musée du Louvre. Here, you can see the famous painting Mona Lisa made by Leonardo da Vinci and other 38,000 arts from pre-history to the 21st history displayed grandly at this museum.

Then, let’s move to Arc de Triomphe! Located in the central area of Place de l’Étoile, this monument is widely known in Paris, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.

It was built during the time of Napoleon Bonaparte with the aim of remembering the services of the heroes who died during the war. Really historic, right?

Let’s close the day with a visit to the Eiffel Tower. You can even go up to see the 360 degrees view of Paris from above or enjoy dinner at the tower (though it’s a bit costly but super romantic!).

However, if you don’t wanna go up, you can just chill around the Eiffel Tower and take Instagrammable photos from the Trocadero Square.

Day 2: A Visit to Normandy (Monet’s Garden – Etretat Cliffs – Mont Saint-Michel)

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit the beautiful Monet’s Garden
  • Exotic natural views in Etretat Cliffs 
  • Pamper your eyes with an enchanting sunset at Mont Saint-Michel
  • Back to the hotel!

For day two, let’s visit the city of Normandy which is located in the north area of France. This city is bordering with the England Strait and you can go here by driving a car for approximately 2.5 hours.

Monet’s Garden is the first stop when you’re in Normandy. From spring to autumn, this garden always looks lovely and charming with its various collections of colorful flowers. Imagine spending the spring season here looking at the flowers bloom beautifully!

Next up, there is Etretat, which is famous for its white cliffs. This high cliff is part of the Côte d’Albâtre and is made of limestone and here you can walk around to see the wonderful scenery from above.

Before we call it a day, a trip to Mont Saint-Michel is much needed. Situated in Northern France, this island is famous for its uniqueness, when there is a high tide, then it will be separated from the rest of the land. Visiting Mont Saint-Michel will also give you exposure to know more about France’s history!

Day 3: Seeing Everything Nice in Nice (Promenade des Anglais – Vieille Ville – Cours Saleya Market) 

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Relax at Promenade des Anglais
  • A visit to the old town of Vieille Ville
  • Shopping spree at Cours Saleya Market
  • Back to the hotel and rest well!

During your day three in France, it’s time to explore Nice, a city located in the southeast of France. You can use the train for about 6 hours to get there and visit the Promenade des Anglais, Vieille Ville, and Cours Saleya Market.

The Promenade des Anglais is a promenade along the Mediterranean coast of Nice. In this area, you will see many local residents doing various activities, such as relaxing and sunbathing, bicycling, as well as skateboarding and in-line skates.

Now, let’s go to the old town Vieille Ville! There are many ancient buildings with notable architecture and various restaurants that sell typical French cuisine. Prepare your camera ready and don’t forget to try some authentic delicacies, t-mates!

Before heading back to the hotel, let’s stop by Cours Saleya Market, a traditional market in Nice that offers a variety of local produce, food products, fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers. You can also buy souvenirs and feel the ambiance of living like a local. Interested in visiting, t-mates?

Day 4: Strolling Around Bordeaux (Place de la Bourse – Porte Cailhau – La Cité du Vin)

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit the square, Place de la Bourse
  • Chill at Porte Cailhau
  • Enjoy the wine tour at La Cité du Vin
  • Back to the hotel

On the fourth day, you can visit other iconic destinations in Bordeaux such as Place de la Bourse, Porte Cailhau, and La Cité du Vin. To get to Bordeaux, you can take a train from Paris for approximately 3 hours.

After arriving in Bordeaux, you can visit Place de la Bourse, a square with fascinating views that are often favored by a lot of tourists visiting Bordeaux.

Not to forget, Place de la Bourse has also been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The square is too pretty to be missed, so make sure to take plenty of photos!

After feeling satisfied with strolling around Place de la Bourse, you can go to Porte Cailhau. Located close to the Garonne River, the area boasts historical buildings with typical European architecture.

You can simply relax in the cafes in this area or enter the building and go upstairs to enjoy the view of the Garonne River and Bordeaux.

Furthermore, if you fancy French wines, you can take a wine tour at La Cité du Vin which is located on the Garonne River.

In this museum, you can see the history of wine and its production process around the world. So, not only tasting the original French wine, but you’ll get to know the history and process as well!

Day 5: A Day in Toulouse (Basilique Saint-Sernin – Place du Capitole – Jardin Japonais)

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Enjoy the Romanesque architecture at Basilique Saint-Sernin
  • See the beautiful paintings at Place du Capitole
  • Back-to-nature tour at Jardin Japonais
  • Back to the hotel!

It’s your day fifth in France, time to spend a day in Toulouse! Located in the south of France, to get here, you can use the train from Paris about 4 hours away.

The first tourist attraction you should visit in Toulouse is the Basilique Saint-Sernin. This building, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Romanesque-style church in Europe.

Here, you will be spoiled with the beauty of the Romanesque architecture that stretches throughout all areas in this church.

Continue your day trip to the Place du Capitole, a place that is both the administrative center and the town hall in Toulouse. You can enter the building and enjoy the stunning frescoes on the ceiling of the Salle des Illustres section. Feels like traveling back in time!

Last but not least, visit Jardin Japonais, a garden with Japanese concept in the middle of the French town. There’s even a red bridge that represents Japanese ambiance, making you feel like you’re really in Japan!

Day 6: Back to Paris!

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit Sainte-Chapelle
  • Join the Seine River Cruises (optional, only when you have free time)
  • Buy some souvenirs at Les Puces de Saint-Ouen
  • Check out from the hotel
  • Head to the airport and prepare to go home!

It’s your last day in France! You can visit Sainte-Chapelle, a stunning church in Paris that is famous for its architecture and stained glass.

If you still have free time, you can walk along the Seine River while enjoying the beauty of Paris. Even better if you take a cruise tour and spend your fine afternoon there.
