Update 08/7/2021

Have you been dreaming about traveling across the globe so bad lately? Well, although given the circumstances, we are not advised yet to traverse around for the time being. However, some of you must be in some cities or even countries for business matters during the outbreak.

Currently, the Indonesian government has put some restraint to the movement of people in and out of the country in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19. Even so, the government has enforced some policies to allow people that work in specific industries to travel across the country.

Here are some requisite documents you need to prepare ahead of your travel and to bring upon your flights domestically.

Domestic Travel Requirements

In order to travel across Indonesia, all passengers must present several documents, which are:

  1. Personal identification (KTP/ Passport).
  2. Health certificate to prove that you are COVID-19 negative. The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test is valid for 3 days, whereas to those with flights to Bali, it is only valid for 2 days. Furthermore, the rapid antigen test result is valid for 2 days to all destinations.
  3. Passengers must obtain a vaccination certificate ahead of the travel time and it is required for them to bring it along while traveling by plane.
  4. Passengers who wish to travel to Jakarta must download Bersatu Lawan COVID-19 app (United Against COVID-19). This app was developed by the Communications and Information Ministry for the National COVID-19 Task Force.

More documents needed according to specific travel needs:

  1. People working for the government or private institutions: a letter of assignment.
  2. People who need emergency health services or whose family member is ill or died: referral letter from the hospital or an official death certificate.
  3. Repatriation of Indonesian migrant workers: statement letter from Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency.
  4. Indonesian citizens and students abroad: statement letter from Indonesian representative offices abroad and statement letter issued by University or school abroad.

For more information, please refer to the tiket.com info page.

What is Bersatu Lawan COVID-19 (BLC) app?

This app provides daily updates on the number of cases, recoveries, and death caused by coronavirus disease in Indonesia. It is important for Indonesian people who travel domestically to download this app because doing so can help the government to present the infection risk maps of COVID-19 across Indonesia.

BLC also makes the officer in the airport able to check your travel documents faster. If you are traveling to Jakarta, in the airport, the officer will scan the QR code in the app to check whether you have the necessary travel documents or not.

To use the BLC app, a user must create an account and enter his or her personal data. Then, the user can use the app’s features such as consultation, self-examination, and observing the hot spot map. Through the BLC app, you can be more cautious when traveling because you know which areas have a low/moderate/ high risk of COVID-19.

Currently, this application can only be downloaded on an Android-based device at http://bit.ly/BLCplaystore. You can also access the link from the covid19.go.id page.

What is a Vaccination Certificate and How to Obtain It?

In order to curb the spread of Covid-19, the government has regulated us to take the vaccination as it will help us to create the herd immunity within us. Therefore, it is such a necessity to get your dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

Within every dose of Covid-19 vaccine you get comes a vaccination certificate. It is a legal card you would need to bring to be eligible to travel during Covid-19 outbreak. The card will act as a proof to the officer that you have indeed taken your dose of Covid-19 vaccine prior to your travel time.

There are two ways you could obtain the vaccination certificate. We will explain each of them to you thoroughly below.

By Text Message

You will get the automatic text messages following your first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. 1199 will send you two messages, the first one being the link to your first vaccination certificate. The second message is going to be a text message with your full name, NIK, vaccine number and the second vaccination schedule for you. Written in the schedule is the date of your second vaccine and the assigned location for it.

Once you get those text messages, you are entitled to download the vaccination certificate through the attached link on the first message. Then voila! You just earned your very own vaccination certificate.
