The holy month of Ramadan is over. To mark the end of the fasting month, Muslims across the globe celebrate Eid al-Fitr with family and friends. This year, the celebration may be different since most of you can’t go back to your hometown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Even though the condition is different compared to the previous year, you can still show your act of kindness to your friends and relatives. One of the things you can do is to exchange gifts! Buying gifts show others that you care for them.

Eid Gift Ideas for Your Relatives

Although you may not be able to gather with your family and relatives during Eid, you can buy them gifts. We’ve rounded up a list of gifts ideas that you can buy for your loved ones. Take a peek and choose what you’ll buy!

1. Handmade Soaps

When you are at home, you can do something fun, such as creating your own soap! There are many tutorials on Youtube that can guide you through the process. Natural soaps are lovely and safe. They can cleanse and soothe your skin. What’s more important is, hand-made soaps are beautiful gifts for your relatives as well!

If you don’t have the time to make your own soap, you can buy hand-made soaps online. Many online platforms sell packages of beautiful handmade soaps that are perfect for gifts!

2. Food Hampers

Foods are the most common gifts for Eid al-Fitr. Usually, people like to give a parcel that consists of cookies, nastar, spekkoek and many more. At times like this, you don’t have to go to a cake shop because you can easily order it online from e-commerce platforms or Instagram. Order what you think is nice and send the gift to your loved ones’ addresses!

3. Local Coffee

If your family or friends like coffee, now is the perfect time to send them local coffee. How about buying them iced caramel macchiato? Or green tea latte? During the pandemic, many local shops are struggling to cope with the condition as the demand drops. Buying local products is one of the things that you can do to help local businesses to survive.

Besides, your friends and family would be happy to receive your gifts! Currently, many local coffee shops are selling a 1-liter size coffee. It’s the perfect size for you to give gifts to your loved ones!

4. Cool Face Masks

As you know that it is not a good idea to go out during Eid al-Fitr as virus transmission keeps happening outside. If you have to go out to buy necessities, you must wear face masks. Currently, the government advises Indonesian people to wear a cloth face mask.

If you are looking for a gift for Eid, buying your family a cloth mask with various cool patterns can be an alternative. Your gifts are going to be useful to them as it can keep them safe when they decide to leave their houses.

5. Money

On Eid al-Fitr celebrations, Muslims usually prepare gifts for children in the form of money. By giving them money, you can teach children about the importance of money and the benefit of saving it for the future.

You can find envelopes with many attractive designs, or even decorate the envelopes by yourself if you have free time during self-quarantine ;p Money in a nice envelope can be a great gift for your relatives as they may need it at uncertain times like this.

6. Flight tickets

Are you planning to travel to see your loved ones? Be patient. You may not be able to travel now, but you can still plan for it. Probably, you’re not the only one who wants to see the world after being stuck at home for more than two months.
