Going on a vacay doesn’t mean you have to get on a flight or a train to another city or country. You can enjoy your hometown by visiting cool museums, drinking a sip of coffee in a fancy cafe, or enjoying local snacks in your hometown.

If you’re living in Bandung, you’re lucky! In this creative city, you can find many tourist attractions that can make you feel like a tourist. Don’t have any ideas about where to go in your free time? No worries! We’ll make it easier for you to explore Bandung!

Be a Tourist in Bandung, Explore Lots of Tourist Attractions!

Here are some of the tourist attractions that you can visit when you have free time!

1. Explore Gedung Sate

Visiting a historical site is one of the activities you can do in your hometown. Bandung owns Gedung Sate, a historical building that was built in 1920. It is called “Gedung Sate” because the building’s central pinnacle looks like satay, an Indonesian traditional dish.

Gedung Sate was made of large pieces of stones. This building is an icon in Bandung that is often visited by local and international tourists. There are many activities you can enjoy in Gedung Sate such as observing interactive media installations, seeing the illustration of Bandung’s development a hundred years ago, and enjoying the time in the audio-visual room.

2. Go to Great Asia Africa

Great Asia Africa is probably the latest destination that is very popular in Bandung. Inside the park, you can feel like you are exploring 7 countries at once! When you’re exploring Great Asia Africa, you can see major landmarks in Indonesia, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, the Middle East, and even Africa! 

In the meantime, during the new normal, you don’t need to visit international destinations because Bandung can cure your longing for travel to many different countries! Inside Great Asia Africa, you can taste special menus from each country as well. For instance, there are Japanese snacks, Korean food, and Indonesian dishes. How about wearing traditional clothing from India? You can!

3. Relax in a Coffee Shop at Braga Street

The City of Flowers is filled with so much history, especially history about the Dutch. There are more than 500 old buildings in this city which are still well-maintained. The local government is very concerned about this cultural heritage.

As a tourist in your own city, why don’t you explore Braga Street with your friends or family? Sip a coffee in a fancy restaurant and enjoy the moment there. You’ll be a very happy tourist!

4. Enjoy Farmhouse Lembang With Family

One of the attractive places in Bandung is Farmhouse Lembang. Inside the farmhouse, you can try fresh milk and eat a lot of snacks! Coming to Farmhouse Lembang will make us feel like we’re traveling to a city in Europe. The buildings are made with Europe-style decorations. It’s a very Instagrammable place! 

What’s unique is that there is a replica of Hobbit House that we may have heard of from The Hobbit film series. You only need to pay a little to explore this favorite attraction. 

5. Shop at Rumah Mode

Your tummy is full. Now, it’s time to go shopping! Bandung is a creative city. Many people sell good quality clothing at cheap prices in Bandung. There are a lot of shopping outlets in the this City of Flower. If you’re into shopping, you can try to shop at Rumah Mode. 

Rumah Mode Factory Outlet is a must-visit destination in Bandung. It’s a one-stop shopping if you are looking for snacks, souvenirs, to clothes. The place is big and comfortable with many unique collections. Rumah Mode is always full of people. Buy some stuff that you like and you’ll feel like being a tourist in your own city!

Bandung, a City Full of Fun Things to Do

Now may not a good time to travel outside of the city because we’re still adjusting to the new normal. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t go out and have fun! You can have a vacay in your own city!
