1. Mie Kocok Persib (Shaken noodle)

Mie Kocok or “Shaken Noodle” is one of the legendary ones in Bandung; Mie Kocok Persib itself is the muvi star of Bandung. The name itself is taken from the popular football club in Bandung;, “Persib Bandung.” A visit to Bandung won’t count as one if you don’t visit this place. Founded in 1963, Mie Kocok Persib is able to maintain its distinctive taste. This mie kocok consists of handmade noodles, beef gravel, green onions, served in a rich beef broth with fried onions on top.

2. Bubur Ayam Mang Oyo (Chicken porridge)

Chicken porridge is something that you can find everywhere in any parts of Indonesia; from Sabang to Merauke. Bandung itself has its own perfection of bubur ayam (chicken porridge); Bubur Ayam Mang Oyo. This steaming hot porridge is well-served with an enormous portion of shredded chicken on top. You can add some extra toppings as well; gizzard, quails, skewered chicken liver and crackers.

3. Batagor Riri 

Batagor is the next “must” on our Bandung Culinary Tourism Experience list. Being one of the most famous snacks that can be found throughout Indonesia, batagor originally came from Bandung. If you want to have an original taste, try Batagor Riri; . Experience the taste of fried fish dumpling served in spicy peanut sauce with a little bit of lime juice smeared on top. Usually, the dumplings are cut into small-bite sized pieces, this can be your lunch option!

4. Roti Bakar Gempol (Toast)

Roti Bakar Gempol is an ideal place for you to relax, order a cup of coffee, and a sweet bread toast. Roti Gempol have always been serving their own home-made breads, then cut the slices in that kind of mouthwatering thickness. Roti Gempol is undoubtedly generous when it comes to its breads and toppings! Pretty sure you’ll feel bloated after one plate.

5. Wedang Ronde Jahe Alkateri (Glutinous rice balls in ginger syrup)

Wedang Ronde is a traditional beverage in Indonesia to warm your cold night and Wedang Ronde Jahe Alkateri is one of the best places in Bandung if you want some. The dough of Ronde (tiny colorful rice balls) is made from glutinous rice flours, while the liquid called “Wedang” itself is made of ginger water which is best served when still hot. Feel that tiny bite sized rice balls filled with sweetened crushed peanuts.

6. Cireng Cipaganti (Fried tapioca starch)

Moving on now to the superstar of Indonesia’s snacks, Cireng; short for “aci digoreng” or fried tapioca starch. Our Sundanese friends themselves have been devouring these chewy delights since the 80s. Cireng itself has undergone a series of rebrandings. Now you can find cireng that is filled with stuffing, such as cheese, corned beef, meatballs, or sausage with a dip into “rujak” sambal. Bandung itself is a nest to the legendary authentic cireng, Cireng Cipaganti situated in Cipaganti street! A must-visit place when you visit Bandung.

7. Baso Aci Ambu (Savory tapioca balls)

Baso Aci Ambu is another local dish that you can find in Bandung, and one of the most popular street food spots among Bandung. It’s savory slash spicy tapioca balls served in a bowl along with beef meatballs, peas crackers and splash of lime juice on top. Baso Aci Ambu, unlike no others, comes with a variety of broth that you can enjoy.

8. Martabak San Francisco

Like that is not enough, Martabak also comes with its savory one with eggs and meat filling.  If you are heading to Bandung, then Martabak San Francisco is the one that you can visit with your friends or family.

9. Surabi Setiabudi

Serabi Setiabudi is a legendary place that can be found in  Bandung, a home to “Serabi,” a small-sized traditional snack that is made from wheat flour and a mixture of coconut milk or some with shredded coconut. Serabi is often served with sweet palm sugar syrup on top. These modern days, Serabi can be found either in sweet or savory versions, and include not just the old school liquid palm sugar, but also the likes of cheese, sausage, ice cream, bananas, durian slices or strawberry slices on top.
