1. Order Your Train Ticket
In the past, all passengers who want to take the train must be willing to queue at the station counter to get a ticket. However, now there is a more modern way to order train tickets, which is ordering train tickets online.

After purchasing the tickets, don’t forget to keep the booking code you get on the e-ticket that you got via email. This booking code is required at check-in to get a boarding pass. If your ticket is in the form of an electronic ticket, you don’t have to print it before leaving for the station. The important thing is you keep the booking code.
2. Check-In & Preparing Your Boarding Pass
The next thing you need to know to take the train that is you must go through the check-in process. You can check yourself in is by going to the self-ticketing machine which provided at the departure station. You can do a self-check-in from 7×24 hours to 3 hours before departure time.
Enter your train ticket booking code that you have in the column provided, then print your boarding pass. This boarding pass contains the name of the passenger, departure date, train name, and travel number.
Well, when you have your boarding pass, then your check-in process is complete. Keep your boarding pass to show it to the officer before entering the train platform. Don’t forget, for stations that have not implemented a check-in system, a self-ticketing machine is provided which you can use to print your ticket.
3. Show Your Boarding Pass and IDs
Before entering the platform, show your boarding pass and ID to the officer. Your boarding pass will be scanned and matched with your identity.
When it’s done, you can just enter and wait for the departure time. Don’t forget, keep the boarding pass with you because the officer will check it again on the train.
If all the requirements and documents are complete, all you have to do is enter and wait for the departure time, t-mates. Don’t forget, keep your boarding pass, because the officer will ask you when you’re on the train later.
Special info for t-mates traveling from Bandung Station, you can get through boarding only by scanning your face through the Face Recognition facility. No need for the hassle of showing various documents such as physical boarding passes, ID cards, or vaccine documents!
4. Wait for Train Arrival
If you are still confused, you can ask the station staff on which line your train will come. While waiting, t-mates can do several activities such as listening to music, snacking, or maybe taking photos at the station! ?
4. Get Into The Train and Find Your Seat
Ask the clerk on the platform about on what line your train will come. After the passenger is allowed to get onboard, look for the train car and your seat. Store your things in the storage area, sit comfortably, and wait for the train to depart. Don’t forget, the officer will also walk around to ask for an identity card and boarding pass. So, keep it in a save place.

All train classes provided by PT KAI are equipped with air conditioning. So all passengers are strictly prohibited from smoking during train trips. If caught smoking, passengers will be dropped off at the next station even though they have not reached the destination.
6. Know Your Stations
Before getting on the train, first, make sure the station where you get on and get off, t-mates. Starting 3 August 2023, PT KAI will impose sanctions and fines for train passengers who deliberately get off at a station that exceeds the relation stated on the ticket.
Passengers who are proven to have violated are required to pay cash fines within 1×24 hours. If it exceeds the time limit, passengers will be sanctioned not being able to board the train temporarily for 90 days. So, pay attention to your ticket!

1. Taking Trains From Other Than The Selected Station
Good news, t-mates! Now, you can take the train from stations located after the departure station listed on the ticket without the need to reschedule. For example, for a train ticket from Solo Balapan Station to Gambir Station; it is permissible to board the train at the next station, Klaten, Yogyakarta, or Purwokerto Station.
Don’t forget to pay attention to the departure time at the next station, t-mates! However, you cannot get on from stations that are located before the departure station. In cases where Yogyakarta Station is listed as the departure station on the ticket, you may not board the train at Solo Balapan Station. But don’t worry because the reschedule option is always available!
