Update: After reimposed tight PSBB since 14 September to 11 October 2020, now the Governor of Jakarta has decided to relaxed the restrictions and Jakarta returns to transitional phase which will last from 12 until 25 October 2020.
On 9 September, the Governor of DKI Jakarta stated that the city would re-enforce the tight PSBB. After a month on a tight PSBB, the capital will now enter the second phase of transitional PSBB after the number of new cases became more stable.

Important Things About Second Phase of Transitional PSBB
As a transitional PSBB period in Jakarta will begin on 12 October 2020, there are some important things you must know. Keep on reading and make sure to take notes on these points.
1. No Odd-Even Traffic Restrictions
Jakarta’s odd-even traffic restriction will still be abolished again until further notice. For private cars, the maximum passenger is only two people per line (except for those who live in one address). Everyone in the car is also required to wear a mask and disinfect the vehicle after using it.
People on two-wheeled vehicles or motorbikes are required to wear a mask. Vehicles also need to be disinfected regularly.
2. Cinemas Will Reopen
During the transitional PSBB, cinemas will be allowed to reoperate. However, there are rules that must be followed, for instance, the maximum audience limit is only 25% of normal capacity. In addition, visitors are also not allowed to move from their seats.
The distance between one person to others will also be regulated by following the social distancing and health protocol of at least 1.5 meters. Meanwhile, cinema operational rules will follow the technicalities of building management.
3. Sports Arena Can Be Accessed
Sports buildings with closed or indoor spaces that were previously closed are now allowed to open during this transitional PSBB period. The public will be able to access the arena, however, there should be no audience/spectators for any sports activities.
In addition, regulations regarding this sports hall are also limited to a maximum of 50% of visitors of maximum capacity. All sports arena management also needs to remind every visitor to implement health protocols.
For outdoor sports venues, so far there is no obligation to limit visitors. Other rules that must be fulfilled are washing hands with soap before and after sports and use personal sports equipment.
4. Fitness Center is Now Reopen
Fitness centers in Jakarta will be allowed to reopen with the provision of limiting visitors to a maximum of only 25% of the total capacity. The distance for visitors to the fitness center must also be maintained at least 2 meters. However, any outdoor group exercising activities will not be allowed.
Each fitness center is required to apply strict standard operating procedures for shared areas. As well as facilities in the room are also regulated with air circulation controllers and each officer is required to wear a mask, face shield, and gloves.
5. Shopping Centers and Malls Remain Open
Places for shopping such as markets and malls are allowed to open, with some regulations such as restricting visitors to a maximum of 50% of normal capacity.
The operating hours for markets during this transitional PSBB period will be regulated by the market management. Meanwhile, shopping centers and malls are only allowed to operate from 9.00 – 21.00 WIB. Stores in the mall will follow the regulations of the relevant sector offices.
6. Restrictions Indoor Wedding Ceremony
The good news is, now wedding ceremonies and receptions can be held in the building. With a note that it’s only allowed to invite guests as much as 25% of the total building capacity.
Seating distance is also regulated by at least 1.5 to 2 meters. Every eating and drinking utensils must be sterilized and no buffet allowed to be served. All wedding attendants should wear masks, face shields, and gloves.
All health protocols apart from those listed above are also required to be adhered to. Meanwhile, applications for weddings in the building are submitted by the manager of the building.
7. People Can Dine-In at Food Places
Entering the transitional PSBB period, now Jakartans are allowed to enjoy dine-in at places such as food stalls, restaurants, cafes, and so on. Business actors, managers, organizers, or people in charge of the place are asked to provide an appeal for the implementation of health protocols to all visitors.
The maximum number of visitors allowed for dine-in is also limited to a maximum of 50% of the available capacity. Visitors are required to keep wearing a mask, except when eating and drinking.
Other regulations that must be followed by the restaurant management are to provide at least a 1-meter distance between visitors, provide hand sanitizers, check the visitor’s body temperature, and other applicable health protocols.
8. Meetings, Workshops, and Seminars are Allowed
Events such as meetings, workshops, and seminars are allowed to be held again during the transitional PSBB period.
Some things that need to be noted include the limitation of the maximum capacity of 25% of the total room capacity, seating distance of at least 1.5 meters, the prohibition of changing seats or passing by, sterilizing eating and drinking utensils, serving food is prohibited in the buffet, and officers must wear a mask, face shield, and gloves.
9. Offices Reopened
If previously only 11 business sectors were allowed to continue operating, now offices in the non-essential sector can operate again with a maximum limit of only 50% of the building capacity.
All office management are required to establish a system to record visitors who come with details including name, residence identification number, telephone number, and time of visit/work. Data collection can be done manually or digitally.
In addition, they also need to adjust working hours and shifts with a minimum break of 3 hours between each shift. The use of technology must also be maximally utilized to prevent people from gathering or direct contact.
10. Barbershop and Salon to Open
During the transitional PSBB period, beauty places such as hair salons and barbershop may be reopened. The maximum limit for visitors is 50% of the room capacity.
Some services should not be provided to visitors such as massages and facials. The distance between the chairs for the salon and the barbershop also follows a minimum of 1.5 meters. Hairdressers and all staff are required to use a mask, face shield, and gloves.
11. Rules for Places of Worship
Activities at worship places are allowed to continue operating with a maximum limit of 50% of the place capacity. Strict regulations are adjusted according to the institution of each religion.
For large or large places of worship, visitors are required to record visitors, either manually or digitally. Worship places that are used for weddings must follow the rules regarding wedding facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
