1. Started in 1968
t-mates, or especially those who have lived in Jakarta for quite a long time, do you know since when Jakarta Fair has been held?
As far back as history could be traced in 1968, our former President Soeharto was the one who initiated and opened Djakarta Fair which was firstly held in Monas. Until 1991, Jakarta Fair was indeed held at Monas, before finally moved to Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran.
2. Jakarta Fair 2019 is Held for 40 Days
We all know that Jakarta Fair is one of the biggest exhibitions and festivals in Jakarta, and even in Indonesia. In 2019, coinciding with Jakarta’s 492th anniversary, Jakarta Fair is happening again, for 40 days!
Jakarta Fair was opened on 22 May 2019 and will still be open until 30 June 2019. The amazing thing is, even at the moment of Eid holiday, Jakarta Fair remained open, even though the hours adjusted to community activities during Hari Raya holiday.

3. Located at JIExpo Kemayoran
The third fact about Jakarta Fair is that since 1992, instead of being held in Monas, the government agreed to use JIEXpo in Kemayoran as a location for Jakarta Fair.
Let’s not get lost! When you come, do take notes that Jakarta Fair is divided into 5 different exhibition areas, which are Pasar Malam, Pucuk Coolinary, Millenial Food, Expo, and Kampung Betawi.
4. Use 4 TransJakarta Routes to Jakarta Fair
Instead of driving your own vehicle yet still have to look for a parking spot, how about coming over by TransJakarta? There are 4 TransJakarta buses that will take you directly to JIEXpo Kemayoran, only for Jakarta Fair!
Those 4 routes are including 2C Route from Monas to JIExpo, PRJ1 Route from Pusat Grosir Cililitan (PGC) to JIExpo, PRJ2 Route from Kampung Melayu, and the last is PRJ3 Route to Pulogadung.
5. Enjoy Fireworks Shows
If you’re a witness of the annual Jakarta Fair, you must’ve known that Jakarta Fair is even more festive with its fireworks show. In 2019, there are 4 fireworks shows in Jakarta Fair to entertain the visitors, the first one was on 5 June, and the next was on 6 June.
